Somaliland lost one of her Notable political figures and inspired for me

The death of our former president, H.E Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud (Silanyo), a charismatic leader whose legacy is intertwined throughout Somaliland's history, makes me very sad. As we commemorate the loss of a great leader who devoted his life to assisting, liberating, and guiding his people toward the correct path, I offer my sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, and entire nation of Somaliland. In addition to being a politician, Silanyo was a visionary who made a substantial contribution to defining Somaliland's identity and future. In the struggle for liberation, he led the Somali National Movement (SNM), adamantly opposing injustice and fighting for the restoration of our independence and the right of our people to self-determination.

The creation of Somaliland was greatly facilitated by his He began helping to revitalize significant sectors, improve infrastructure, and attract investment as a result of significant economic shifts. His desire for Somaliland's economic independence was evident in the significant infrastructural projects he backed, most notably the Berbera Corridor. His administration also made social services, healthcare, and education its main priorities, which helped many people live better lives. One of his greatest achievements has been his unwavering commitment to democracy. Under Silanyo's leadership, Somaliland held free, fair, and open elections, bolstering our democratic institutions and setting a standard for local governance. His focus on communication and diplomacy raised Somaliland's profile abroad and gained him the respect and admiration of many people worldwide. Above all, Silanyo was a wise and humble leader who always had compassion for his people,

His legacy of economic progress, tranquility, and resilience will inspire future generations. The Somaliland people will always be inspired and proud of what he has done, even if his passing is a huge loss.
